Makeup and Teens: Tips to Achieve Age-Appropriate Looks

Stores sell pretend to make up for young kids, which allows you to practice with makeup that is not expensive. When you’re younger, this is what you experimented with. As you get older, it is not uncommon to play in your mom’s makeup bag. You put it on the way you think you have seen it applied, but you didn’t quite get it right. The blush was too thick, the lipstick was too dark, and somehow the eye shadow covered your entire eye and you wore 4 or 5 different shades.

The wearing of makeup daily usually begins around ages 12-14, but there is no set age to begin wearing it. Wearing makeup is fun, but learning to put it on correctly can be a struggle. The hardest part is making sure your makeup is appropriate for your age. Looking through magazines, it seems that everyone is wearing makeup.
