Your Best Self

By Lexi Wesley
Becoming your best self requires one to truly know themself as a person while expressing self love. Self love can come in various forms, but one that is of high importance is self-care. If you want to be the best version of yourself then you have to learn how to feed your mind, body, and spirit, all the things necessary for you to grow.

When it comes to our mind we have to be careful with the things that we allow in. What we watch, listen to, and the conversations we engage in can make all the difference in becoming our best self. It’s important that we take care of our bodies as well. Working out daily, getting seven to eight hours of sleep, limiting our sugar intake, drinking plenty water, and eating healthy will aid in us living better lives. Lastly, we should be feeding our spirit. I personally believe this is the most important. Starting your day with gospel music, doing a devotional, and praying can set the tone for your whole day. It’s also necessary that we spend time in Christ’s presence so that we know what it is that he wants us to accomplish each and every day.

Ultimately, becoming your best self requires you to discover who you really are. Learning the ins and outs of yourself, what you like and dislike, your best traits & toxic traits so you can initiate change when necessary. When you spend time with Christ then you will discover who you are as an individual. You’ll view yourself through His lens and you’ll begin to walk and talk different as his light is what will shine through you everywhere you go. If you don’t know who you are as a person you’ll walk around aimlessly allowing other people to project who/ what they want you to be onto you.

Becoming your best self requires a lot of patience, consistency, and discipline. Patient enough to transition into all you’re called to be while growing from your failures and mistakes. You have to stay consistent while building new habits as you weed out the old. Discipline is key when it comes to not giving up and creating change in your life. Ultimately, spending time with Christ will allow you to become your best self while walking into all that he purposed for you to see.
