You have probably heard about K2, and may know some friends that use it, but you may not know that it affects millions of people all over the world and has caused an increase of calls to Poison Control and emergency rooms. Also known as Spice or Kush, K2 is synthetic marijuana, which means it is sprayed with chemicals similar to the marijuana plant. People use K2 in different ways; smoking it or even adding water to it and drinking it. It is also used in liquid form for vaping (e-cigarettes). It became popular, because it was available legally at convenience stores and online until a national ban was in 2012. Previously, synthetic marijuana was not detectable in standard drug tests, but some drug tests now include ways to identify the different compounds found in synthetic marijuana.
