Seniors across the country are finishing the end of the academic year online in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, while virtual prom and graduation celebrations are becoming more common.
Thanks for technology, you can have an amazing virtual prom! Having a night to remember is still the same goal, whether prom is at a large venue or in your family living room. To help you bring your night to life, were breaking down everything you should have on your virtual prom checklist.
Decide on a platform: Make sure everyone is on the same page as to where you will be connecting on virtual prom night! Zoom is a great platform for bigger groups; while FaceTime is only available to iPhone and Apple users and Houseparty is limited to 8 guess in a room and is good for those who want to play games.
Wear you Dress: Although the venue is online this year, doesn’t mean you can’t put on your dress and get glammed up. Whether your prom is at home, you should totally wear that dress you fell in love with. After all, it deserves to be shown off. Don’t forget a fresh flower corsage.

Take Pictures: Take pictures of everything, your outfit, group pics with your family and friends, and of your virtual prom setup so you can share and remember for years to come. Be sure to coordinate a hashtag with your class to use when you post!
Choose your Playlist: Prom night is all about breaking it down on the dance floor, so make sure everyone has the same playlist on deck so your songs and moves are in sync. Designate the resident DJ of the group to create the soundtrack.
Have Fun! This is most important part of the night! We know a virtual prom isn’t exactly how you imagined for your senior year, but make the most of it! Make TikToks, play games, and obviously dance your heart out!
